The immune system is a very complex system that is responsible for our well being. It is the front warrior that keeps us safe from viruses, bacteria, fungus, parasites, mold etc. Without a strong immune system the body tends to feel fatigued, run down, sluggish, has poor digestion, and may be anxious. The emotions may be grumpy, sad, depressed, worried, irritable, aggressive, nervous and scattered. When the immune system has too much to contend with it will begin to affect liver health. This creates more alignments such as skin conditions, arthritis, muscular skeletal problems and digestive problems. For a healthy strong immune system the body requires enzymes so it can provide the body with anti-oxidants such as vitamins CoQ10, A and E, and amino acid Glutathione. When the body has all the essential nutrients required for immune health then the body and mind are well. What are Enzymes and where do they come from? Enzymes are the life force, without them life does not exist. Enzymes are required to aid in the assimilation of nutrients. There are two categories of enzymes 1. Metabolic Enzymes. These enzymes heal the body, manage the body’s processes, repair the body, providing cellular energy, stimulating the brain. 2. Digestive Enzymes. These enzymes aid in the break down of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Enzymes come from food, especially raw, living foods. Foods cooked under 47C will still be enzyme rich. Enzymes are deactivated or destroyed at temperatures 48C – 170 C as are vitamins and heat sensitive amino acids. Eating enzyme rich foods strengthens the immune system by conserving the metabolic enzymes for removing viruses and other external pathogens. Eating bagged or canned foods (most kibbles are produced at temperatures above 149C), stresses the immune system because it does not recognize the non-enzyme substance, it then creates stress on the liver and kidneys. In modern time so many animals as well as people are having immune system and Liver health related problems. Stress from living in the city, toxins from cars, and other airborne chemicals, chemicals from commercial foods, chemicals from plastic containers, especially those that are a soft plastic number 1. (The number is usually on the bottom of the container within a triangle), and emotional stress will also affect the immune system and the liver. Introducing or increasing living foods into the diet is one of the best ways to take care of the immune system, liver, kidneys, heart, etc., and presumably the entire physical body and mind, simultaneously. When the body becomes run down from low nutrient reserves a nice gentle way to build and strengthen the immune system is introducing living foods and herbs that will aid in digestion and liver support health. A immune system strengthening diet for dogs and cats: Fresh meat, grated vegetables, sprouts, raw egg yolk, cottage cheese, yoghurt, raw cheese, raw goat milk, cod liver oil and nutritional yeast Herbs that aid in digestion: dandelion root, anise seeds, dill, ginger, and catnip. Herbs that cleanse the liver and blood: red clover, burdock root, milk thistle seeds, and chaparral. Herbs that support immune health: kelp, alfalfa powder, barley grass powder, wheat grass powder, Siberian ginseng, Astragalus, and Echinacea root. Algae’s spirulina and chlorella. Essential oils and flower essences are a wonderful way to support emotional health. I have found when the body is run down then so is the spirit. Using essential oils and flower essences in conjunction with food and herbs accelerates the body’s ability to become strong and healthy. Enjoy what is naturally around us and be well. Nature cures |
